whose mission is to serve Veterans through the challenges they may be facing from illness, isolation or traumatic life experience.

Veterans Day Care-A-Van Events

Salute 2021.JPG

On November 11th each year, we salute our aging Military population residing in local retirement facilities.  In 2020 due to the pandemic restrictions which prevented us from having our annual pinning ceremony, we had to get creative to find a way to honor Veterans without going into the retirement facilities.  We sent out a call for help from our local Active Duty Military to assist us with a drive-through "Care-A-Van" event.  This event was so well received, we continue to host it annually.  During the Care-A-Van, we are joined local active military members, by a Texarkana Police Department motorcycle escort, Texarkana Fire Department, members of various local veterans organizations, and local antique car owners.   At each facility, we provide service branch flags and certificates of appreciation to Veterans, play patriotic music, recite the Pledge of Allegiance and provide a military salute to those who have served our country.

Veterans Pinning Ceremonies

Veteran Pinning Ceremonies acknowledge the military service and sacrifices made by a Veteran and their family.  Ceremonies can be held at the Veteran's home, in the Hospice of Texarkana Inpatient Care Center, or other health care facility.  For more information, please call (903) 794-4263.
